Financial management information, with data and controller expertise

Do you want better reporting and support with the financial interpretation? Datalab builds the data foundation and dashboards. BPO - De Administratie helps with KPIs and financial steering. Together we determine which expertise your team needs and what a suitable first delivery looks like.

For organisations that want to steer on data, but lack time or expertise

This cooperation is intended for teams that genuinely want to move forward with data, but notice that daily pressure, limited finance capacity or insufficient BI direction slows the process down.

Recognise this?

You want to move forward, but the organisation cannot get to it

Many organisations want to get more value from data, but remain stuck in separate reports, debates about definitions or dashboards that work technically but provide too little direction. Often there is simply too little time to set up a good data and analytics process alongside day-to-day operations.

This becomes especially visible when there is no CFO or controller, finance is overloaded, or BI specialists can build but lack substantive guidance from the business.

Our approach

BPO helps with the business question, Datalab with the insights

BPO looks from the perspective of the business: what does management want to steer on, which figures really matter, and what do those figures say about finance, operations, margin, cash flow or growth?

Datalab translates those questions into reliable data, dashboards, analyses, AI applications and data models. The result is not a collection of separate reports, but management information that helps teams make real choices.

How we work together

Using BPO is optional. We determine together what your organisation needs and deliberately keep the roles clear.

Datalab + BPO - De Administratie

Datalab provides the technical engine: data warehouse, pipelines, data models, dashboards and analytics. BPO - De Administratie brings financial practice: CFO services, controlling, KPI development, budget control and strategic financial management. Together we make sure data is not only available, but also used for better decisions.

"In our cooperation with Datalab, we can make business questions very concrete: which KPIs matter, how do you measure them properly and which insights does management need? Datalab then translates that into dashboards, analyses and data models that genuinely help organisations move forward. That combination has already created a lot of momentum in joint projects."

How we divide the roles: what each party delivers

  • Datalab delivers: connected sources, a verifiable data model and the agreed dashboards.
  • BPO delivers: financial definitions, KPI choices and guidance with interpretation and steering.
  • Your team delivers: source knowledge, assessment of definitions and follow-up on the outcomes.
  • Together we agree: one well-scoped reporting question, acceptance of the outcome and the division of management and follow-up work.

Frequently asked questions about Datalab and BPO

When is BPO - De Administratie relevant?

Especially when your organisation has no CFO or controller, finance is very busy, or a BI specialist needs substantive guidance to define KPIs and reports properly.

When is BPO probably not needed?

If you only need a technical solution and already have enough CFO, controller and BI capacity internally, Datalab can simply carry out the project technically and compactly. In that case, take a look at our solution for financial reporting and dashboards.

Who does what in the cooperation?

Datalab is responsible for the data platform, source integration, data models, BI and analytics. BPO helps with CFO and controller expertise, KPI development, budget control, financial interpretation and translating figures into management steering. Your own team provides source knowledge, assesses definitions and follows up on the outcomes.

Who is our first point of contact?

We agree that per project. Usually we appoint one point of contact for day-to-day coordination, so you do not have to deal with two parties at once.

How is the involvement of both parties agreed and invoiced?

Per project. We record up front which contribution Datalab and BPO deliver and how it is invoiced, so you know where you stand in advance.

How does this work alongside our existing controller or accountant?

Complementary, not replacing. Your controller or accountant remains the financial linchpin; we agree up front which role BPO plays alongside them - for example KPI development or temporary extra capacity. Datalab can also be engaged without BPO for the technical side.

Who manages the technology after delivery?

As a rule, Datalab manages the data platform, the connections and the dashboards. The precise management agreements are recorded per project, including anything your own team takes over.

Do we always have to work with both parties?

No. BPO is an additional option. We first discuss your situation and then determine whether extra finance capacity adds value.

Can you also improve an existing BI environment?

Yes. Datalab can improve existing datasets, dashboards and data models. If the substantive finance definitions or KPI choices are not yet sharp enough, BPO can think along.

Do you want data and financial steering to work better together?

In a no-obligation conversation we determine which expertise your team needs and what a suitable first delivery looks like: technical data support only, or CFO and controller capacity through BPO as well.
